The Release of UltraQuest Version 5.5 Coming Soon

UltraQuest Version 5.5, available in a few months, will feature shared report output, a new and improved UltraQuest Reporter Desktop environment, remote SQL access for z/VM, suspended and extended data filtering, and much more.

After suggestions from several customers, we have implemented Shared Report Output by enhancing UltraQuest Reporter and Library so that output from published or non-published requests can be shared with other groups of users. If you are a Reporter or Library user and select to run the request to held output, you will have the option to pick from a list of user groups with whom you wish to share the output. This user can also select or modify his list of sharing groups while viewing his output in the Output Redirector.

Shared output groups need to be created for this sharing of report output. Sharing groups can be the same groups that are allowed to publish requests or view requests, or the library administrator can define new sharing groups for viewing other users’ held output, e.g. a sharing group for all users in the same department. Alerts are available to automatically notify recipients in the select groups when their shared output is available for viewing.

We expect this new sharing output facility will expand the functionality of UltraQuest Reporter and Library to even more users within an organization.

Next month, I'll highlight more new features of UltraQuest 5.5 including suspended and extended data filtering.

For all NOMAD and UltraQuest sites planning to upgrade to z/OS Versions 1.10 or 1.11:

For compatibility with z/OS 1.10 or later versions, APF-authorized NOMAD requires the APAR for C33226. It is recommended that all sites planning to upgrade to z/OS 1.10 or later versions contact NOMAD and UltraQuest Support and request the APAR for C33226 for the version of NOMAD you will be using with z/OS 1.10 or later. The APAR can be applied prior to your z/OS upgrade, and is available for all supported versions of NOMAD, including: V750:V753 and V700:V701.

Contact UltraQuest and NOMAD Support at 888-328-7806, or submit a request for this APAR via the Select website using our Support Form at:
