E-mail

BOULDER, Colorado, May 7, 2004: Select Solution for MDA™ can Provide up to 80% of Model to Code Synchronization.

Today Select Business Solutions announced the General Availability of Select Solution for MDA, the newest in its line of successful and proven development tools. Select Business Solutions has led the software design and development industry for over 10 years with proven tools and solutions for business process modeling, UML®, data modeling, Component Based Development (CBD), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Software Reuse / Artifact Management.

Select Solution for MDA builds upon Select's proven UML modeling tools and its CBD/SOA software development process while providing IT organizations with platform independence, improved software application quality and increased developer productivity. Remarkably, this is achieved by utilizing preloaded transformations and patterns to generate up to 80% of the code.

"OMG is delighted to see that Select incorporates our Model Driven Architecture standard in their new product, Select Solution for MDA," said Richard Soley, Chairman and CEO, Object Management Group.

Select is committed to supporting and helping shape the MDA approach with the OMG. Many of the concepts already familiar to Select customers, such as distinct viewpoints and automated transformation are now embedded within the MDA standard. Now an accredited MDA FastStart™ partner Select has further cemented this already strong relationship. MDA FastStart is a special program designed and managed by the OMG to help information technology (IT) organizations become familiar with MDA concepts and rapidly apply MDA to their mission-critical software development activities.

"Select Solution for MDA is revolutionizing software development within IT organizations by automatically sharing the knowledge of their architecture specialists and giving them platform independent designs for today and the future. Developers are able to automatically elaborate an abstract business model into a platform and technology-specific design and even to code. We have broken down the communication barriers between the business and the software developers. Now businesses can ensure their IT developers don't just build the systems right but that they build the right systems." explains Hedley Apperly, SVP & General Manager, Select Business Solutions. "Not only does Select Solution for MDA resolve this communication problem but it also supports Component and Service Based Development. Select's software asset repository continues to enable a Supplier/Consumer development process with MDA firmly embedded" continues Apperly.

Select Solution for MDA is a groundbreaking modeling and transformation tool designed to generate, reverse engineer and synchronize all your model viewpoints and your code, based upon UML™ designs. Select Solution for MDA helps ensure your Computation-Independent Model (CIM), Platform Independent Model (PIM), Platform Specific Model (PSM) and code are all synchronized and immediately ready to support ongoing development, maintenance, enhancement and integration tasks. All the models and code can be worked on in parallel, with simultaneous changes reconciled through bi-directional synchronization.
