Aonix's Select Reviewer 2.0 Brings Bug-Free Development One Step Closer

Development Process Tool Speeds Delivery of eBusiness Applications Up to 40 Percent

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - May 11, 2001 — Aonix, a member of the Gores Technology Group, announced today the availability of Reviewer for Select Enterprise version 2.0, an automated design review tool that provides quality assurance by evaluating and automatically fixing design errors to enable faster development of eBusiness applications. The latest version introduces major new features including a new fix-it option that allows designers to easily debug errors as well as new reviews, including business process modeling and data modeling.

According to a product review by John Hunt in the May 2001 issue of Application Development Advisor magazine, "The main benefit for designers is that they can be sure they are following their organizations' best practice guidelines and dealing with the annoying problems that might otherwise dominate the review process. From the reviewer's perspective, the advantage is that the software deals with the more trivial aspects of the review, allowing the review itself to concentrate on more in-depth and important issues, such as whether it fulfills the necessary requirements."

Reviewer 2.0 supports end-to-end reviewing throughout the design life cycle and features over 25 new reviews such as naming standards, missing primary keys and unapproved data types. In addition to UML and component modeling, Reviewer 2.0 also allows developers who use business process modeling and data modeling to check their designs.

"The previous version of Reviewer identified design problems in the model, which the user needed to correct one by one," stated Hedley Apperly, director of marketing, Aonix. "Reviewer 2.0 contains the new 'Fix-It' option similar to spell check in Microsoft(r) Word(r). All basic errors and missing options or fields can be fixed automatically. This new functionality benefits developers by enabling them to automate the process of fixing design errors and drastically cut development cycles."
