Aonix® UltraQuest Adds HTML Report Output

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — December 7, 2001 — Aonix, a member of the Gores Technology Group and a leading provider of S/390 reporting and data access tools, announced today a new release of its Web-enabled, business intelligence software, UltraQuest™ version 3.5. The new release's HTML report output facility allows users to significantly enhance the appearance of reports when delivered to their Web browser.

UltraQuest provides end users with easy Web access to S/390 data sources, including IBM’s DB2 for OS/390 or VM, VSAM, IMS, IDMS, Teradata, NOMAD and QSAM. With the new release, this HTML-formatted report output may be delivered directly to the Web browser, sent as an email attachment, or held for review and subsequent distribution. These formatted reports can be dynamically built from UltraQuest Reporter and published to UltraQuest Library for use via Web browsers.
"HTML formatting of reports is controlled by the use of templates which are defined and stored centrally," noted Scot Stoney, Director of Marketing for Enterprise Business Intelligence Solutions at Aonix. "These templates can be easily applied to a wide variety of reports for customization and quick redesign. In addition, users of the UltraQuest Library can apply templates to published reports providing their own views."

This latest release also supports Velocity Software's ESAWEB Web server under the VM operating system. Velocity Software, known as the experts in VM performance, offers ESAWEB as a very fast VM Web server, yet priced inexpensively.

UltraQuest 3.5 also provides report publishing from the users desktop, a centralized library of standard, reusable reports and menus, email output for report distribution, and batch support with administrative services, alerts, and output redirection.

UltraQuest, which includes a mainframe-based application server, works through a Web server to provide three services:

UltraQuest Reporter: for interactive, real-time access to reports and data extracts from mainframe data sources

UltraQuest Library: a shared library of reports, published from UltraQuest Reporter, which are available through Web browser menus

UltraQuest Applications: custom applications, built using the UltraQuest server and the underlying UltraQuest 4GL. These applications may involve reports as well as data queries and updates.
