Select Component Factory™ 4.2 product release extends support for WebServices, databases and C++ Synchronization

Select Component Factory 4.2 now supports UDDI, WSDL Synchronization, and
XML Parameters

BOULDER, Colorado October 24, 2002 — Aonix Corporation (a member of Gores Technology Group) today announced the release of Select Component Factory 4.2, its highly acclaimed component-based modeling toolset. This new release firmly places Aonix’s Select Business Solutions division and its business systems design and process tools at the forefront of WebService Development.

Select Business Solutions has long been the choice of enterprise application developers as its technology offers the most robust and pragmatic solution for organizations wanting to design, build and architecture complex applications, with this release it has now extended its support to web developers globally.
“Select Business Solutions and Aonix are committed to Select Component Factory development. I believe that this outstanding development is a testament to our engineers. With this release, Select Business Solutions remains at the forefront of the Component-Based Development tools market” Ashley Abdo (CEO, Aonix) comments.

Hedley Apperly (VP Marketing and Development, Select Business Solutions) explains, “As the Component-Based Development market continues to evolve we will evolve our software in line. These recent enhancements will offer customers a more comprehensive WebServices solution, enabling the development of applications faster and with better quality.”

The significant additions to the Select Component Factory Suite include:

Select Component Manager™
(active repository for software component publication, management, searching and reuse)

UDDI Browser
As well as repository, EJB, COM+, registry and ComponentSource browsing, Select Component Manager now maps to UDDI servers. Developers can reuse WebServices defined in any UDDI server, through the single Select Component Manager user interface. The UDDI view also provides rapid search capabilities to find web services and integrate them within your solutions.

WSDL Synchronization
Select Component Manager now synchronizes WebService definitions WSDL files. This allows developers, who are applying a Supply-Manage-and-Consume (SMaC) process to automatically generate WSDL from their service designs and specifications, as well as enabling WebServices to be published and found within Select Component Manager.

.NET Assembly Browsing and Import
Select Component Manager now provides a browser for the .NET components you have installed on your system (through the Global Assembly Cache). The browser gives you the ability to explore their interfaces and services and import any .NET components into Select Component Manager.

XML Parameters
XML designs in Select Component Architect™ can be used as service parameters and published into Select Component Manager automatically. This schema can then be accessed within the Select Component Manager search facility, increasing the level of reuse.

Select Component Architect
(end-to-end design solution for business, data, object, component and WebServices based application development. Includes; BPM, UML and Data Modeling)

Select DBSync™
Select Component Architect has been extended to generate and reverse relational databases. This means that customers who have existing applications can reverse in code, analyze the database structure, facilitating the continued development of applications. The generation of code from diagrams ensures that the code stays in step with the design, improving product fit and quality of finished application.

Mercury TestDirector bridge
Select Component Architect now generates test plans to Mercury TestDirector 7.5, as well as 7.0. This ensures that customer’s investment in design is automatically carried through into testing.

Select C++Sync™
(UML driven code framework generation, reverse engineering and visual differencing for languages for C++)
This is a totally new synchronizer for Select Component Factory which support not only markerless C++ Code generation but it also has the option to review your diagrams prior to generation. The replacement of the existing generator was essential to fully support Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) and ATL.

Select JSync™
(UML driven code framework generation, reverse engineering and visual differencing for languages for Java, J++, IBM Visual Age for Java and JBuilder)
As well as all the existing Java IDE support, Select JSync now integrates with Borland JBuilder versions 6 and 7. This allows you to generate, reverse-engineer, visually difference and simultaneously synchronize your UML models with the Java code in the latest JBuilder product releases.

Pricing and availability
Select Component Architect is priced $3,500 per user license or can be obtained as part of the Select Component Factory which is priced $6,300 per user license. Select Component Factory includes Select Component Architect, Select Component Manager, Reviewer for Select Component Architect, JSync and VBSync.
