Select’s UltraQuest™ Adds XML For Data
InterchangeBOULDER, Colo. — June 30, 2003 —Select
Business Solutions™, a member of Gores Technology Group and a leading
provider of S/390 reporting and data access tools, announced today a new
release of its Web-based, business intelligence software, UltraQuest
version 4.0. This new release’s XML output support allows companies to
extend the value of their legacy data through improved interoperability
with other systems throughout the enterprise.
UltraQuest servers provide end users with easy Web access to S/390 data
sources, including IBM’s DB2 for OS/390 or VM, VSAM, IMS, IDMS, Teradata,
NOMAD® and QSAM. According to Roger Cox, Sr. Product Marketing Manager,
“in addition to the information being delivered via reports, this
business-critical data can be generated in a number of XML formats
suitable for both simple and complex products, as well as for Java and
.NET language development environments. By opening up legacy systems and
new Web-based applications to XML, companies can now deliver applications
that are more integrated than once thought possible.”
UltraQuest version 4.0 will also support WebCharts 3D from Greenpoint,
Inc. Web-based reports can be displayed in the numerous chart formats of
WebCharts and can be modified interactively for further customization.
UltraQuest, which includes a mainframe-based application server, works
through a Web server to provide three services:
UltraQuest Reporter: for interactive,
real-time access to reports and data extracts from mainframe data sources.
UltraQuest Library: a shared library
of reports, published from UltraQuest Reporter, which are available
through Web browser menus.
UltraQuest Applications: custom
applications, built using the UltraQuest server and the underlying
UltraQuest 4GL. These applications may involve reports as well as data
queries and updates.
