Where screening, Sort your data, Summarize the data, add many formatting options
under Options and Run the report.
QLIST makes it easy to find and select databases and tables for reporting. Columns are quickly selected by marking your choices in a pull-down window. Select them with an 'X' or use numbers to indicate how you want to view them in the report. Here we select three columns for our report. Screenshot 2
QLIST makes NOMAD's extensive data selection and manipulation facilities remarkably simple to use. Choose "Where," and your presented witha variety of windowed menus for specifying logical operators and values to screen the data. Here we are screening the data for the period between 1960 to 1970. We we will sort by selected columns. We can indicate the Sort as a primary or secondary sort with a number. There is no limit to the number of Sorts you can have! Note the many options for sorting. We will select an ascending sort and skip a line every time DEPARTMENT_CODE changes value. Summarizing: A variety of aggregations, such as MIN, MAX, AVERAGE and COUNT,
are easily performed with windowed menus that appear under the
"Summary" pick. The first window displays all data items available, a
second presents aggregation options for the data item you select.
Many options are available to customize your report by specifying titles, footings, column headings and display formats, as well as totals, subtotals and specific layout preferences.
Building a temporary or permanent data source made by joining tables and combining data across databases (ie., combining DB2 data with IMS and VSAM files), is point-and pick simple with the built-in CREATE facility. Items from the extract files generated in this process can be selected and manipulated with all the options for screening, sorting, aggregation and display. QLIST makes it easy to find and select databases and tables for reporting. QLIST also gives you six ways to join tables! That's five more then many
