Business Model-Time
Zachman
Definition
“Master
Schedule”
This is a model of the business cycles that is comprised of an
initiating event and an elapsed time ("cycle"). There are two
typical notations for expressing points in time and lengths of time,
P.E.R. T. - type charts and the Senge, "Systems Thinking" models, although
the Senge models are not definitive regarding the length of the cycle
time. They only identify sequence, or
"relative" time.
Select Perspective
Select
Business Solutions takes the view that the fewer modelling notations that
are used for Enterprise Architecture the more consistent will be the
result.
Therefore, to fulfil the requirements of this Zachman cell. it is
recommended that the Busines Process Model created as defined
in the Select Perspective
be used.
The particular notation recommended is that of the the
Process Thread diagram whereby initiating events, processes and results
may be modelled for all pathways through the business cycles at the
relevant level of detail.
Although this
diagram type will depict more than the requirements of this cell,
it will be linked directly with the output from the Scope-Function cell and be more
aligned or coincident with that of the Business-Function
cell.
Select Solution Factory
Use
the Process Thread diagram in Select
Architect to model the initiating
Business Events, high-level Business Processes, and Business Results for
the high-level Business Processes on the Enterprise Business Process
Hierarchy diagrams from the Zachman Scope-Function cell. Include any business timing
constraints as part of Transition Names, Exclusive, Process Breaks or
timing Events:
