Scope-People

Zachman Definition

"List of Organizations Important to the Business"

This is simply a list of organizations to which the Enterprise assigns responsibility for work - the "universe of discourse" relative to people.  It is probably adequate that this list is at a fairly high level of aggregation.  It defines the scope, or boundaries, of the models of organization that are responsible to the Enterprise and depicted on Rows 2-5.

Select Perspective

The Select Perspective recommends the construction of Business Process Thread (PTD) diagrams for projects as part of the Business Alignment phase of the Consume Workflow of the Supply, Manage and Consume (SMaC)Service and Component Based Development model.

At the higher-level, these PTD are constructed with 'swimlanes' which depict which role in the organisation carries out the various business processes.

For the Enterprise Architecture, PTD can be constructed at a higher-level than the needs of projects using the swimlanes to depict different parts of the organisation which may be linked to the locations modelled in the Scope-Network Zachman Framework cell.

Select Solution Factory

Construct Process Thread diagrams in Select Architect for each of the appropriate Business Process Groups in the Enterprise hierarchy constructed for the Scope-Data Zachman cell.

The list of organizations to which theEnterprise assigns responsibility for work as required by this cell model can be seen and reported on from the SCA dictionary:
