Technology Model-Data
Zachman Definition
"Physical Data Model"
This is a technology constrained, or physical representation of the things of
the Enterprise. The representation style of this model would depend on the
technology chosen for implementation. If relational technology is chosen,
this would be a model of the table structure required to support the
Logical Data Model in a relational-style model. In an Object-Oriented
notation, this would be the class-hierarchy/association style models.
Select Perspective
A logical data model is designed
as part of the Data Architecture Delivery Phase of the Supply Workflow of
the Supply,
Manage and Consume (SMaC)
Service and
Component Based Development model.
If physical data models exist
in project models, copy them to the Enterprise Model or modify the logical
data model created for the System-Data cell.
Select Solution Factory
If
project physical data models exist in Select Architect (logical Table Relationship
Diagrams) they may be copied into the Enterprise Model using Select Model Copy
then collated.
If projects
are using an ODBC compliant database, the data schema may be imported
into the SCA Enterprise Model using
the Select Database Schema
Reverser.
If there are no
project physical data models, then modify the model created in
the SCA Enterprise Model
for the System-Data cell.
