Daylight Savings Time
Daylight Savings Time Extension - NOMAD and UltraQuest

Congress last year voted to extend daylight savings time by four weeks as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.  Starting in 2007 the switch to daylight savings time will occur on the second Sunday of March and we will fall back to standard time on the first Sunday of November. The ostensible goal is to conserve energy.

Some of our customers have made inquiries to us and their other vendors to determine if our software will have any problems with the Daylight Savings Time Extension starting in 2007. As a normal course of events, the operating systems, z/OS and z/VM, have their time zone data updated periodically and then once the system is re-ipled it will be aware of the latest time zone information.   So once the operating systems are updated with the Daylight Savings Extension Dates, NOMAD and UltraQuest will automatically pick up the correct local time from the system as it currently does.
